This year, Curteis Webb were very proud to sponsor Tenterden Cricket Club. It is a club steeped in history - it's first mention being in the Maidstone Gazette on 11 August 1840 (although some details of earlier matches are known).
In 1880 a cricket week festival was established, a tradition that continues in the last week of July every year. One of the teams that play in that festival, The Noddymen, from Bromley, celebrated their 50th year of maintaining that cricket week fixture this year.
The club offers 1st and 2nd XI cricket on a Saturday as well as teams on Sunday and midweek. It is a welcoming, open and safe place that also supports a number of thriving junior teams with a well-attended coaching on Sundays and during holidays.
Did I also mention that I (Tim) have played there since a boy and was part of the team that made it all the way to the Premier division? I think I just did 😀
It's for these reasons that I could not be prouder to say that not only was Curteis Webb a sponsor this year but that Tenterden 2nd XI cricket club gained promotion, as league champions!!
Well done to all involved, we are so proud of you and really look forward to sharing a drink, or two, to celebrate.
